Today I am reminded that fear is a liar. I have been afraid to post my first blog post as the thought of opening up to people frankly scares me outta my shorts (though I do not wear shorts it's jeans for me). However, today I was reminded of how far I have come in a year and felt that today would be the best day to write my first blog post so here it is. I hope you enjoy it!

Today is the one-year anniversary of the surgery that lead to one of the darkest periods of my life. In keeping with the theme of rising from the ashes I want to turn what could easily become a day full of depression and sadness, into something good, amazing, and full of joy and promise. So, with that being said I would like to formally welcome you to the nut house, or as I like to call it Mi Vida Loca! That’s My crazy life for those of you who don’t speak Spanish or listen to old country songs. This blog will be a combination lifestyle and essential oil/ wellness blog. I will share some of what is going on in my crazy life though. For starters I will have been married to my husband Marc for 11 years tomorrow. Wow it feels like yesterday. He is crazy, amazing, and sometimes down right annoying, but the truth is he is my rock and I would be lost without him. Although most days it feels like we have been married 111 years instead of just 11. We have two amazing kids who will be referred to as C and T for their privacy. C our son is 14 years old. He is amazing, wonderful, creative, caring, and has Autism. T is our 10-year-old daughter who seems to get more middle aged every day. She is spunky, independent, frighteningly intelligent, and a bit sassy. She also deals with anxiety and other issues. I home school both kids, like I said welcome to my crazy life! Oh, and I can NOT forget my four-legged cuddle buddy Chip, he is our 13-year-old yorkie who my husband says is a codependent little turd. I think he is absolutely adorable. Then again, he did not pee on my work tool bag this morning so…. Like the rest of us in the family Chip has anxiety. He also has reoccurring stomach problems and a bad back. We love him all the same and he is spoiled beyond belief! Just don’t tell my husband I said so! Now on to my least favorite topic to talk about myself. My name is Amber, I am 33 years old and I have been through a lot. They say God only gives us what we can handle. I just wish I had as much faith in me as he does. I deal with depression, anxiety, PTSD, Celiac disease, and the belief that I am funnier than I am. No joke. I am also tough, persistent, resourceful, and have a habit of rising from the ashes. I try to make something good out of something others may see as a permanently debilitating situation. With this blog, my website and my essential oils, I hope to help other see that good things can come from what you first see as the ashes of your broken life. If I help just one person with my story then opening up and talking about me will all be worth it. So that is my goal help one person. Like the Josh Wilson song says dream small. I will leave a link in the comments if you would like to listen to it. Signing off for now have a blessed day.
